Movies

If you are like we are you have been sampling the nightlife so let me give you a tip - this is important because it will save you many long days of suffering... "DO NOT DRINK A LOT!  You may get severe hangovers!"  That being said, it is no more night clubbing for us. We're through.  Let's go to the movies. Hummm, what to see. . . what to see.  Throught the use of cinemagraphs - kinda kitschy, kinda beautiful, and occupies a clever corner at the intersection of photography, art, and video - let's review a few.

doesn't really take a bath but rather plays.

 Dr. Strangelove

Plot: An insane general triggers a path to nuclear holocaust that a war room full of politicians and generals frantically try to stop.
Here: Herr Doktor  Strangelove (Peter Sellars) has an idea on how they could survive a nuclear war. However, he seems to spend an inordinate amount of time with his obstinate arm.

Ghostbusters

2001 Space Odyssey

Here:  Dr. Dave Bowman works with H.A.L..

Dark Knight

Plot: When Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent launch an assault on the mob, they let the clown out of the box, the Joker, bent on turning Gotham on itself and bringing any heroes down to his level.
Here: The Joker (Heath Ledger) is the primary antagonist of Batman. Heath Ledger portrayed The Joker as a completely psychotic and demonic killer.

American Psycho

Plot: A wealthy New York investment banking executive hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he escalates deeper into his illogical, gratuitous fantasies.
Here: Patrick Bateman, exercising in his uptown apartment, compensates for these inabilities and insecurities through obsessive vanity and personal grooming, with unwavering attention to detail.
